Wander around our beautiful Kent flower farm and pick whatever local flowers catch your eye.
Here at Mitchell Flower Farm, near Sevenoaks, we are passionate about growing local flowers naturally. We cultivate our blooms without chemicals and use peat-free compost to enrich the sandy loam of our land which has been in our family for four generations.
Everyone loves fresh flowers in their home, but there is something especially fun and beautiful about assembling your own selection of local blooms right here in the field. Feel free to wander the rows at leisure, snips and bucket in hand, and let your imagination go wild.

Come and pick your own flowers at the field at a time that suits you. Book a session to pick a Regular Bucket. On arrival we will give you snips and the bucket for you to pick into. Each bucket will fit around 30 good-length stems - no need to count them, just pick as many as you can fit in the bucket. After picking, we will wrap the flowers for you to take home (using compostable water-retaining wrap to keep them fresh in the car). If you are travelling far or planning to stop off on the way home we recommend bringing a container with you so the flowers can travel in water. Slots are limited to ensure the best quantity and quality of flowers throughout the season so you can be sure you will have a great selection of beautiful, local flowers and a peaceful field!

We have introduced new early evening booking slots from 5-7pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays so you can pick flowers in the cool. The Thursday slot is ideal if you're picking for a Saturday event. Strictly by appointment only. The field is lovely at this time of day – check out the calendar for availability!
From Honka varieties to cactus, ball and waterlilies, we have lots of dahlias in flower right now. Pink, apricot, dark red, white. The perfect focal flower. Pick when the flowers are open.
My favourite varieties of Apricotta, Kiiro, Cranberry Double Click and Sensation Mixed. Great as a filler. Buds will open in the vase as long as you can see some colour.
Tapestry shades of lime green, pink and salmon. Give them the 'wiggle test' for best vase life - if the flower wiggles when you shake the stem it isn't ready yet.
Sprays of tiny seed heads make these grasses look like optic fibres; great atmospheric filler that gives a bunch of flowers a dreamy look.
Dark Knight scabious is the darkest plum colour and the cushion-like flowers really punch through in a bunch
Phlox Creme Brûlée, with its sprays of caramel flowers, is an excellent filler that knits together any bunch. Cut low for the longest stems.
Appleblossom snapdragons give you cool spires of white with a hint of pink. Orange Wonder brings bright tangerine that always holds the eye. Pick when the bottom flowers are open but the top are still in bud.
Gorgeous cow parsley lookalike with umbels of white flowers with a hint of fresh green. Every bucket needs this airy filler!
Applemint gives every bucket a freshness and delicious scent. Cut low for long stems.

The perfect gift for the flower lover in your life. A pick your own flower voucher can be redeemed any time during the 2026 season and allows the recipient to fill a bucket with the flowers of their choice.

Please click to book and pay £25 to pick a Regular bucket. This guarantees you a great selection of flowers and a peaceful field. When you arrive we will give you snips and the bucket you have booked. Afterwards we can wrap the flowers for you (with compostable water-retaining wraps to keep them fresh in the car).

Yes, simply select 'Add another service' at checkout to book another bucket. A maximum of 3 Regular Buckets are allocated per hour to ensure supply. If you would like to book more than 3 Regular Buckets simply book them for the following hour slot (you can pick all the buckets at the same time).

Cars can park in the field on the grass, weather conditions permitting. If it rains, the tracks can get muddy, and I may have to close, so please check the website beforehand if it is wet. The paths between the flowerbeds are fairly level, but sensible footwear is advised!
Dogs on short leads are welcome.
Since the flowers are in a farm field, there are no loos. I'd love to get a coffee cart here one day, but sadly, this is one for the future.
To simplify pricing, we provide the buckets for you to fill. Afterwards we will wrap them for you in compostable water-absorbent material and paper to keep them perky on the journey home. If you have a long way to travel or will be stopping off on the way home – especially if it is hot – I would recommend bringing a container so the flowers can be transported in water to keep them fresh.
No, just fill the bucket as much as you like.
No, we have a card machine.
If you have booked a picking slot but have to reschedule because of rain or any other reason you can do this online. Click on the confirmation link we have emailed you with the booking and Create an Account. You can then manage your bookings. Alternatively just get in touch and we will sort it for you.
We love our customers at our Kent flower farm, so feel free to visit during normal business hours to explore our selection of local flowers.
