About Mitchell Flower Farm
Our Story
Here at Mitchell Flower Farm, near Sevenoaks, we are passionate about growing local flowers naturally. We cultivate our blooms without chemicals and use peat-free compost to enrich the sandy loam of our land which has been in our family for four generations.
Everyone loves fresh flowers in their home, but there is something especially fun and beautiful about assembling your own selection of local blooms right here in the field. Feel free to wander the rows at leisure, snips and bucket in hand, and let your imagination go wild.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Choose your bucket
We offer 3 bucket sizes for you to choose from. When you arrive, select a bucket and we'll provide you with some snips to fill it with the local flowers that catch your eye. You can then either transfer the flowers to your own container or, for a few extra quid, take the bucket home with you.
Large Flower Bucket
£50
This large flower bucket will fit at least 60 long flower stems, giving you the option for a massive bouquet or several smaller ones. It's perfect for events, especially when summer is in full swing and the local flowers have had a chance to truly flourish. The number of stems that will fit depends on your selection; dahlias, sunflowers, and snapdragons will take up more room than cosmos, verbena, or ammi. The bucket measures 28cm in diameter and 32cm deep. For an extra £4, you can take the buck
Regular Flower Bucket
£20
Ideal for medium length stems, these metal buckets will fit around 20-30 blooms for a lovely bunch or several smaller tabletop displays. Approx 14cm diameter, 20cm deep. Add £5 to take the bucket home with you and enjoy the beauty of local flowers.
Small Flower Bucket
£15
Perfect for the beginning of the season when stems are shorter, these 13cm diameter, 12cm deep galvanised buckets still pack in a lot of local flowers. They are great for sweetpeas, calendula, borage, cerinthe, strawflowers, and short stemmed cosmos and dahlias. Take the bucket home with you for another £3.
Jam Jars

Great for kids or for when you want a small tabletop display. These are ideal for shorter stems that would get lost in a taller bucket - things like calendula, sweetness, cerinthe, strawflowers, and Iceland poppies. A jam jar with a lid is included so you can use it again.

Do I have to book?
No need to book, but do check the website before heading off in case we have had to close due to bad weather.
How can I find you?
Mitchell Flower Farm is in Bitchet Green, near Sevenoaks, Kent. You can find us just down from the cricket ground at Bitchet Green along Rooks Hill Road. Keep an eye out for a farm gate on your left. The nearest postcode is TN15 0NG, and you can also locate us using What3Words: flap.rail.clay. Don’t forget to look for the orange banner by the metal farm gate to find our local flowers!
When are you open?
Our Kent flower farm is open every Friday and Saturday from 10am-3pm, welcoming visitors from June to mid-October.
Are there any access issues?
Cars can park in the field on the grass, weather conditions permitting. If it rains, the tracks can get muddy, and I may have to close, so please check the website beforehand if it is wet. The paths between the flowerbeds featuring our local flowers are fairly level, but sensible footwear is advised!
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs on short leads are welcome.
Are there are any facilities on site?
Since the flowers are in a farm field, there are no loos. I'd love to get a coffee cart here one day, but sadly, this is one for the future.
What if your opening days don't work for me?
Our Kent flower farm is open for picking your own flowers on Fridays and Saturdays. However, if you are planning a big event, such as a wedding or party, I may be able to accommodate you on another day. Please note that there is a minimum £50 spend for these arrangements. Feel free to get in touch!
Can I bring my own container to pick into?
We offer 4 container sizes for your local flowers - the Large Bucket, Regular Bucket, Small Bucket, and Jam Jar. To simplify pricing, we provide one of these buckets for you to fill. For a small additional fee, you can take these buckets home with you, or you can choose to transfer the flowers into your own container.
Do I have to bring secateurs or snips?
Feel free to bring your own, but we also have a selection of local flowers you can borrow.
Pick your Own Flowers vouchers
The perfect gift for the flower lover in your life. A pick your own flower voucher can be redeemed at any time during the 2026 season (Fridays and Saturdays from June to October inclusive) and allows the recipient to fill a bucket with the flowers of their choice. Bucket is included.

New for the 2026 season, we are excited to offer evening hosting for private pick your own events at our Kent flower farm. Whether it's for a hen party or just a get-together with friends, get in touch and we can arrange a beautiful sundowner session in the field, complete with a complimentary glass of fizz, nibbles, and a regular bucket of local flowers for each member of the party. £35 per person, maximum group of 10 people.
